Split Crow - A Halifax story

This is a rare weekend rating from a different city.
Now. I never thought I would be talking about The Split Crow in terms of food ever.
For those who do not know, split crow is the oldest bar in Halifax and was granted a Beer and Liquor licence more than 250 years ago. Today it is a place that is populated by students and has amazing drink specials and you will be hard pressed to get in after 3pm on Saturdays.
I was in Halifax this weekend and ending up visiting this wonderful place. At 3pm our server came around and asked us if we wanted any wings as they were going on special for the next hour before beer did. I obviously said yes. Here we go.
1. Wing Quality: This was surprising. I thought I would be in the 1 range but actually they were not bad. They were not big and did not have the kick I wanted but were fairly flavourful and for the price of 35 cents not a bad snack before lots of beer.
2.5/5
2. Sides and Extras: I did not have anything at all with them. Unless you count the brunch I had earlier.
NA
3. Beer: Beer is cheap and plentiful here. you can get a "tray" of 30 beers. Enough said.
4.5/5
4. Service: Not bad. Tough crowd for a server. Packed house with all University students all drinking alot.
3/5
5. Overall Experience: This is a tough one. Wings were an afterthought here and always will be. They are a slight add on. However, this remains one of my favourt places in the world to have beers. Maybe it is the memories but as wings go I could do with or without them here but if you get a chance to be here with live eastcoast bands playing everything, do it.
4/5
